Health Screenings
Our
dedicated staff will come directly to your business, church, school or civic
group to provide these important and life-saving health assessments and
screenings. These screenings are provided to area
businesses, churches, schools and other organizations to perform a variety
of health assessments as a
FREE service to the community.
FREE
health screenings offered
include:
-
Blood Pressure
Assessment
-
Lipid Profile
(Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL and Triglycerides):
Screening test for coronary heart
disease risk.
-
Glucose
(blood level): Screen
for risk of developing diabetes.
-
Iron Profile
(Iron & iron binding capacity):
Screening test for iron
deficiency, anemia and for iron overload disorders or Hemochromatosis.
A simple blood test
can determine the results of each component to your screening.
Fasting is required for 12 hours prior to the time of this health screening.
Therefore, our health screenings are typically scheduled for the early
morning hours. A minimum of 25 participants is
REQUIRED for an on-site
screening.
Each
participant's results are mailed to him/her confidentially, along with
instructions for understanding the screening results. Where needed,
follow-up recommendations are made so that anyone who has a health concern
is offered resources for future prevention or further diagnosis and
treatment.
Company profiles are
also provided upon requested. This composite profile shows the overall
health status of the company's employees. In cases where the overall
profile reveals common health issues, Community Outreach can recommend
programs available through the hospital to address those needs.
