Lexington Medical Center recognizes the need to build a strong relationship with education to develop our future workforce needs. With the shortage in healthcare careers, there is a need to implement student programs involving shadowing opportunities, service learning, speaking engagements, tours, internships, and Co-ops to build the eagerness for these students to explore the career opportunities in healthcare. As Lexington Medical Center continues to build on excellence, there will be the need to educate and guide our future workforce in their career exploration as well as prepare them to succeed in a healthcare profession. LMC is committed to student development and encourages their interest by actively participating in our educational reform of career clusters. Thus, the work based learning opportunities we are hosting are in hopes of achieving this effort.
