The Center of Things

In less than two hours you can be in the mountains to the west. In roughly the same amount of time you can be at Myrtle Beach or historical Charleston or Hilton Head. Atlanta is just a few hours away. Charlotte is only an hour-and-a-half. So if you're into NFL football or NBA basketball, you'll find it in either direction.

Greater Columbia is home to a national monument, a national forest, three state parks and numerous nature preserves.

  • The Koger Center for the Performing Arts in Columbia is the home of the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra and the Columbia City Ballet.

  • Lake Murray is a 50,000-acre recreational lake with 500 miles of shoreline
  • Two- to three-hour drive to beach or mountains
  • The Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens was recently named one of the ten greatest zoos in the United States. The zoo features more than 2,000 animals and a 70-acre botanical garden.
