| About our Practice
Since 1980, it has been our pleasure and privilege to serve the health care needs of the Lexington area. We provide comprehensive medical care to families and individuals, and we look forward to being your family medicine experts in the years to come. Our affiliation with Lexington Medical Center has allowed us to expand and improve the services we provide. These include periodic health maintenance assessments for children and adults, well baby care, ongoing management of medical problems and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. We are equipped to handle minor trauma such as lacerations and minor injuries as well as provide laboratory and limited x-ray services. We have recently added a unit to our office to screen for osteoporosis.
Appointments
Our office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We work by appointments, which you can make by calling us at 358-6420. Please give the receptionist a general idea of the purpose of your visit so that the appropriate amount of time and level of service can be provided. We are all committed to staying on schedule, but request understanding in the event of unexpected emergencies and urgent care that sometimes causes us to run behind. We will do our best to honor your valuable time when you schedule a visit with us. In addition to routine appointments, we reserve a number of same-day slots for acute illness, so patients can get in to see a doctor when sudden illnesses arise.
Hospitalizations
Newborn infants and pediatric hospital admissions are managed by Lexington Pediatrics. Adult hospital admissions are referred to LMC Internal Medicine for in-hospital management. We resume care of our patients after hospital discharge. Patients requiring specialty care are referred to the appropriate medical specialists.
Emergencies/After Hours
After hours, our patients are advised to go to the urgent care center in our building, or to the LMC emergency department for treatment. The urgent care center at LMC-Lexington is open
7 days a week, from 8 AM -10 PM.
Prescriptions
Routine prescription refills are handled during regular office hours. We usually request 24-48 hours for the completion of refill requests. In general, prescription refills are not done after hours. We do not phone in prescriptions for narcotic or controlled substances after hours. We also believe that phoned prescriptions for antibiotics are often inappropriate in your medical care and we discourage this practice.
Forms and Letters
We are asked frequently to complete forms and write letters for our patients. These services require approximately one week to complete to allow time for record review and transcription.
