Nursing and Healthcare Scholarships

Who are they for?

We have scholarships for high school seniors, nursing and select allied healthcare students, and working nurses.

Foundation Healthcare Scholarships

Lexington Medical Center is committed to providing the best quality health care to its patients and community. To support this commitment, the Lexington Medical Center Foundation provides annual healthcare scholarships to invest in maintaining the high quality staff that has come to symbolize Lexington Medical Center. Scholarships are available for current students pursuing a degree in nursing. Lexington Medical Center employees pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree in select Allied Health programs as described below are also eligible to apply for scholarship support.

Graduate Program * | $ 2,000 / Semester

Reduced scholarship awards are available to LMC employees enrolled part-time.

The Lexington Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary is accepting financial assistance applications for those attaining and enhancing nursing education at a variety of levels.

You may apply for only one scholarship. Incomplete applications will be discarded. Any application received after the deadline cannot be considered for a scholarship. If you're a graduating senior waiting on an acceptance letter, call us at (803) 791-2573.

High School Seniors

Medhurst, Norton and Telfer Scholarships

$2,000 Each

Awarded to high school seniors living in Lexington County and plan to earn a Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

Requirements

  • Completed application
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Essay
  • Official high school transcript (with GPA, class rank and SAT or ACT scores)
  • Letter of acceptance into nursing school required

Ann Wingate Scholarships

$1,000 Each

Awarded to high school seniors living in Lexington County and plan to earn an Associates Degree in Nursing.

Requirements

  • Completed application
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Essay
  • Official high school transcript (with GPA, class rank and SAT or ACT scores)
  • Letter of acceptance into nursing school required

Higher Education Students

Sandra Dodd Continuing Education Scholarships

$1,000 Each

Awarded to students pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Prior scholarship winners are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • College student with sophomore or higher standing who is or will be accepted into a Bachelors Degree in Nursing Program.
  • Completed application
  • Letter of endorsement from the nursing program's dean or other official
  • One additional letter of recommendation
  • College transcript with GPA
  • Essay

Cook and Price Mature Student Scholarships

$1,000 Each

Awarded to nursing students in two-year or four-year programs. To be eligible, applicants must have been accepted into a nursing program.

Requirements

  • Letter of acceptance to an Associate or Bachelor's Degree program in Nursing or Pre-Nursing program.
  • Completed application
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official transcript of prior academic work with GPA (if available)
  • Expected date of graduation
  • Essay

Auxiliary Volunteers Memorial Scholarship

$3,000

One scholarship will be awarded each year. No separate application is needed. The scholarship committee will select the recipient from the applications to the different scholarships.
