Bio

A graduate of Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey, with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Louis J. Moyer, MD, earned his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He then completed a transitional internship at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, and an internal medicine residency at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Moyer went on to complete a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

While completing his medical education and training, Dr. Moyer served as a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy, progressing from medical student to general medical officer. He served with deployed Marine Corps units as director of Medical Services in Kandahar, Afghanistan, and treated patients at military facilities in the U.S. and abroad as a pulmonary and critical care physician. For his service, Dr. Moyer has received two Navy Commendation Medals, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal and Combat Action Ribbon, among other honors.

Dr. Moyer most recently served as an intensivist at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford, Delaware. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine, and is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Legion, the Society for Critical Care Medicine and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
