Alzheimer’s Affects Many Over 65

One out of every 10 people over the age of 65 and nearly half of those over 85 are thought to have Alzheimer’s disease.

360,000 New Cases Each Year

Nationally, nearly 360,000 new cases of Alzheimer’s are diagnosed each year. Without a prevention or cure, 14 million adults are expected to develop Alzheimer’s by the year 2050 as the baby boomer generation ages.

Number Expected to Triple

In South Carolina alone, there are currently over 60,000 individuals diagnosed with the Alzheimer’s disease, a number expected to triple within the next fifty years.
