Physical and Emotion Assistance

Bringing a child into the world is one of the most joyous occasions you will experience. While you may have all the support you think you need, it can still be an anxious time as well. That’s why we offer the Doula Birthing Assistant program which helps expectant mothers and families cope with the physical and emotional demands of one of life’s most momentous events.

How does a doula help?

Doulas are trained to help guide you through the pain and stress that accompany labor and delivery by providing emotional support, physical comfort measures and informational support. This can have an immeasurable positive impact on the childbirth experience. National studies show that doula support can reduce the need for Caesarean deliveries and medication, as well as shorten the length of labor and recovery time, while increasing the overall satisfaction of labor and delivery.

Helping Families and Loved Ones

Doulas provide physical comfort and emotional support for the entire family, greatly enhancing the self-confidence of the mother-to-be. If you choose to include a doula in your birthing experience, she can suggest ways for family members to be involved in childbirth and help new dads ease into their roles of coach and father. Her presence does not take the place of family involvement but complements it. She will be as involved as you want and need her to be.

Your Doula Stays with You

Your doula remains with you throughout labor and delivery, regardless of time or shift changes, caring for you with everything from soothing tired muscles to helping you breastfeed your baby. The doula will also visit you the next day, providing additional support, breastfeeding assistance and information.
