A Frightening Diagnosis

A diagnosis of cancer is a frightening prospect. The mere thought that you or someone you love might one day have to battle some form of the disease is enough to induce intense fear and anxiety.

Our Holistic Approach

We understand that it is important not only to address your physical needs but also the emotional, psychological and spiritual issues that you and your family face. That’s why we have created a variety of resources and support groups focused on a diverse range of topics. We strongly believe that participation in these groups can have significant benefits and result in decreased stress and depression.

Breast Health Specialist

The Breast Health Specialist is a patient and family educator, assisting women in dealing with the emotional aspects of diagnosis and recovery. The Breast Health Specialist is available to the patient at any time of the day or night.

Hospital Volunteers

Throughout the hospital, special people volunteer their time in many different capacities, but especially on behalf of patients.

These well-trained, knowledgeable, compassionate community members are as close as a request to the nearest staff member. Guidance, insight and comfort are their stock in trade.

Becky’s Place

Becky’s Place is an on-site appearance center that meets the unique needs of women who are undergoing cancer treatment. Located on the ground floor of Lexington Medical Park One, Becky’s Place specializes in fitting wigs and breast prostheses for women in an environment that is private and tasteful.

Community Services - Look Good…Feel Better

Every three months, we offer free cosmetic classes for women who have undergone cancer treatment and any other individuals who may be interested. Classes are taught by trained stylists and volunteers, and are a collaborative effort between the American Cancer Society, the National Cosmetology Association and the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association.
