Cardiac Diagnostics

Finding & Treating Heart Disease Early

Powerful CT scanners and advanced diagnostics give us the ability to see heart disease in clear detail. Those same exams and tests allow physicians to pinpoint cardiovascular treatments for maximum effectiveness. What’s more, these critical cardiac diagnostics are accessible right here in Lexington County.

  • Cardiac Catheterization
This diagnostic is used to evaluate heart and its blood supply problems.
  • Echocardiogram
This noninvasive test uses sound waves to evaluate the heart's chambers and valves.
  • Electrocardiogram or EKG
This test records the electrical activity of the heart, shows abnormal rhythms (arrhythmias or dysrhythmias) and can detect heart muscle damage.
  • Electrophysiology Study
In this test, insulated electric catheters are placed through the large vein in the upper leg into the heart.
  • Holter Monitor
This small, portable ECG machine is worn by a patient to record heartbeats on tape over a period of 24 to 48 hours during normal activities.
  • PET/CT
This nuclear scan gives information about blood flow through the coronary arteries.
  • Stress Test
This test is given while a patient walks on a treadmill or pedals a stationary bike to monitor the heart during exercise.
