    Nutrition Therapy

    Physician Referrals

Please speak with your LMC physician and ask them to place a referral to Nutrition Services for you. We are unable to accept referrals from physicians outside of the LMC Network. Patients will be contacted once the referral is received.

Good Health Begins with Quality Nutrition

Health professionals agree: nutrition therapy is a primary treatment for those receiving cancer treatments and means to improve conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, celiac disease and food allergies.

Our registered dietitian (RD) helps establish nutrition goals and provides nutrition therapy including meal reviews, eating habit assessments, nutritional health reviews and personalized nutrition treatment plans.

Ask your doctor if a referral for nutrition therapy would be right for you. With a physician referral, you can set an appointment and get started on the road to better health.

    Your First RD Visit

Initial visits take about one hour. After the session, your dietician will schedule follow-up appointments to gauge progress and adjust goals and treatment plans as needed.

    Insurance

Medical nutrition therapy is covered by many insurance plans. Check with your insurance plan for specific medical nutrition therapy coverage details.

Medicare Part B recipients can receive nutrition services to help improve health and for conditions including diabetes and kidney disease. You may be eligible for at least three hours of nutrition therapy services in the first year of care and two hours in additional years.

If for any reason you are unable to reach the clinical nutrition services department, please call (803) 936-8887
