Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Equipment
We constantly seek the most advanced medical technology, programs and services to enable our medical team to treat patients with the finest health care resources in the region. One of the latest additions to complement our advanced resources is the new Positron Emission Tomography (PET) equipment.
PET/CT is a medical imaging device which combines in a single gantry system both a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and an x-ray Computed Tomography (CT), so that images acquired from both devices can be taken sequentially, in the same session from the patient and combined into a single superposed image. A PET scan measures important body functions, such as blood flow, oxygen use, and sugar (glucose) metabolism, to help doctors evaluate how well organs and tissues are functioning.
