West Columbia, S.C. – Lexington Medical Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Charles Harmon and attorney Ryan Holt, both of Lexington, to its board of directors. Lexington County Council recently appointed Harmon and Holt to three-year terms beginning now and running through March 2015.
Dr. Charles Harmon will serve as the board’s physician-at-large. Dr. Harmon is a board certified surgeon with Lexington Surgical Associates. He has practiced medicine in Lexington County for more than 30 years. Dr. Harmon received his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed a residency in General Surgery at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. A husband and father of two children, Dr. Harmon and his wife Diane live in Lexington. He previously served on the Lexington Medical Center board of directors from 1997 to 1999. He has also served as Lexington Medical Center’s Chief of Staff.
A Lexington County native, Ryan Holt is an attorney with Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow, P.A. in Columbia. Previously, he served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable R. Knox McMahon in Lexington County. Mr. Holt graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he held several leadership positions in student government and activities. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina Honors College, where he was elected Vice President of the Student Body and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Holt lives in Lexington with his wife, Jill Jackson Holt. He is a deacon at First Baptist Church of Columbia, member of the Lexington Rotary and has served on the University of South Carolina Alumni Association's Richland-Lexington Board and the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Council.
In addition, the Lexington Medical Center board of directors recently re-elected its current offers to serve another term: Dan Jones, Chairman; Al Harman, Vice Chairman; and Vince Rhodes, Secretary.
The Lexington Medical Center board of directors meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. inside the board conference room located at 2728 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, inside Lexington Medical Park 1.
