Mark Shelley Promoted to Lexington Medical Center VP of Marketing and Communications

Posted by: Jennifer Wilson, Public Relations Manager | December 18, 2012

West Columbia, S.C. – Lexington Medical Center is proud to announce the promotion of Mark Shelley to Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the hospital.

Mark Shelley joined Lexington Medical Center as Director of Marketing and Public Relations more than six years ago.  During his tenure, Shelley has led the hospital’s Marketing department to more than 200 regional and national marketing and advertising awards, including two international Telly Awards and numerous Best in Show awards. He also produced the hospital’s Pink Glove Dance videos, which won back-to-back national championship titles. Shelley often represents LMC at national health care marketing conferences where he speaks about the hospital’s accomplishments in social media, interactive, branding and employee engagement.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Shelley managed his own advertising agency for many years – even serving as a marketing consultant for Lexington Medical Center before joining the hospital as Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

“In many ways, the culture at Lexington Medical Center inspires our advertising and marketing efforts,” Shelley said.   “The hospital’s mission of providing quality health care services for our community and the core values of our employees to exceed expectations through compassion, integrity and teamwork are what make the hospital marketable.”

In addition to his work at Lexington Medical Center, Shelley is the founder of Specialminds, an organization that provides information and multimedia resources to families and professionals dealing with the everyday issues from autistic spectrum disorders. These tools are used throughout the world to enhance social skills of children with autism and improve understanding in every day activities.

Shelley and his wife Teresa live in Blythewood.  They have three children and one grandchild.
