West Columbia, S.C.Please join us to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors at Cancer of Many Colors, presented by the Lexington Medical Center Foundation, on March 7, 2013.  At this exciting event, you can sample signature cuisine from local restaurants, relax with a drink and enjoy music from The Tams.  Proceeds will benefit the LMC Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund.

Cancer of Many Colors will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton at 2100 Bush River Road, Columbia from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7th.  Tickets cost $65 each.

Participating restaurants will be Fatz Café, Alodia’s, Yummie Creations, Village Catering, Columbo’s, All Star Pizza and Italian Eatery, Saigon Moon, Lizard’s Thicket, Salsarita’s, Chick-Fil-A, Jimmy Johns, Travinia’s and Sporting News.  Beer and wine will be served.  Kay Kay Kreations is making hand-painted wine glasses.

The Tams will provide musical entertainment.  Well known in the Carolinas for their signature, “beach music,” The Tams have been entertaining audiences for decades, especially with their famous songs “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy” and “What Kind of Fool.”  They have been elected into the Beach Music Hall of Fame and have been named “Beach Band of the Decade.”

The Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund helps patients in need by purchasing critical medications and supplies, and providing emergency assistance with utilities and other living expenses when other resources have run out.  From paying a light bill to picking up the tab for a prescription, the Cancer Care Fund affects the most important needs of our hospital’s cancer patients.

Thanks to the generosity of donors throughout our community, the Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund has also provided a Healing Garden for patients at Lexington Oncology, a Research Suite for clinical trials, and a Resource Room where patients can learn about their disease, medications, nutrition and exercise information.  And, contributions to the Cancer Care Fund have helped to provide therapy programs, counseling, support groups and entertainment for patients during treatment.
