Jan Burt is New Vice Chair of Lexington Medical Center Board of Directors

West Columbia, S.C. – The Lexington County Health Services District is pleased to announce that Jan Burt is the new Vice Chair of the Lexington Medical Center board of directors. Burt began her term as Vice Chair in March.
Mrs. Burt is currently serving in her third term with the Lexington Medical Center board of directors. After her appointment in 2007, she served as the Vice Chairman of the finance committee and Chairman of the audit committee.
“I am truly honored to serve as Vice Chair of the board of directors,” said Mrs. Burt. “While remaining keenly focused on providing the highest quality care and compassionate service, Lexington Medical Center has grown and evolved into a state-of-the-art comprehensive medical network.”
Mrs. Burt, a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University, is senior vice president and city executive of Cayce for First Citizens Bank, South Carolina. She has extensive community leadership experience and more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry.
“I look forward to working with the board and the hospital’s administration on the opportunities and challenges we face in this ever-changing health care environment,” added Mrs. Burt.
In addition to her work on the hospital’s board, Mrs. Burt is the immediate past Chairman of the Cultural Council of the Arts for Richland and Lexington counties and currently serves on the Midlands Citizens Committee on Judicial Qualifications. For the past year, she has served on the Foundation for the SC Commission for the Blind. Burt was also a charter member of Women in Philanthropy.
The Lexington Medical Center board of directors has 21 members. The board meets on the 4th Thursday of each month inside the board conference room located inside Lexington Medical Park 1 on the hospital campus.
