Janice Bacon, MD, Joins Lexington Medical Center

West Columbia, SC – Lexington Medical Center is pleased to announce that Janice Bacon, MD, will join the Lexington Medical Center staff as an OB/Gyn at Women’s Health & Diagnostic Center, a physician practice in the hospital’s network.  Dr. Bacon has nearly 30 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology and is an honored member of her field.

Dr. Bacon comes to Lexington Medical Center from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Dr. Bacon joined the USC faculty in 1983 after completing her internship and residency at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.  She received her medical degree from the University of South Florida. 

Dr. Bacon is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She is currently the president-elect of the South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  Dr. Bacon’s professional interests include pediatric and adolescent gynecology and contraceptive management.

Dr. Bacon will be the fourth physician at Women’s Health & Diagnostic Center, joining Dr. Michael Ervin, Dr. Gregory Lyman and Dr. Charles Shipley III.  The practice exemplifies compassionate care and high degree of medical excellence.  The practice, which offers a full array of services in gynecological and obstetric care for women in all stages of life, exemplifies compassionate care and high degree of medical excellence.
