Insurance Procedures for LMC Hospital Bills

Determining Your Bill Type

This information only applies to charges related to an LMC Hospital bill. If you have questions about insurance related to a physician's practice bill, please contact the physician's office directly via the contact information on your statement.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for paying all charges not covered by insurance. This may include deductibles, co-pay amounts, per-stay co-pays and non-covered charges. You may be required to pay for any health care item or service that your insurance plan deems non-covered or not medically necessary and does not pay.

The Process

We will file a claim for your care with your insurance carrier, provided we have complete billing information and benefits are made payable to Lexington Medical Center.

We typically will not contact you again until your insurance company has paid and there is a patient balance, or we have been unsuccessful in obtaining payment from them. Should this occur, we may ask for your assistance with your insurance company for payment.

If your insurance has pre-certification, pre-authorization or other requirements, it is your responsibility to obtain them.
