What is an E-Greeting?

An E-Greeting is a personal message, completed online, that gets hand-delivered to a patient’s room.

You must know the patient’s room number

You need to know the patient’s name and room number (call the hospital directory at (803) 791-2000 to get this information if you aren’t sure).

Messages are deliverable to patients only

Messages are only delivered to patients listed in the hospital directory (inpatients). We apologize, but we cannot deliver messages to patients coming to the hospital for same-day surgery, outpatient or clinic visits.

When are messages delivered?

Messages are delivered by Guest Services during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Messages are hand-delivered to the patient’s room within 24 hours of the following business day from when the message was sent (e.g., messages sent at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, will be forwarded to the patient before 8 a.m. Friday).

Can a patient respond to an E-Greeting?

The patient or parent decides whether or not to respond to the message.

Restrictions and Disclaimer

If the patient is no longer a patient of the hospital or is not listed in the hospital directory, the message will be discarded without delivery.

Messages of an inappropriate nature will immediately be destroyed without delivery.
