Patient Story

Leslie Wyatt, Open Heart Surgery Patient

Heart problems can happen to anyone.

Leslie Wyatt had no family history of heart problems. When she was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse and later experienced congestive heart failure, she was terrified.

“I thought I was dying,” she says.

Leslie was one of the first women to have open heart surgery in Lexington Medical Center’s new heart program. Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation helped her regain her strength, and her recovery progress exceeded expectations.

“I’m so grateful to Dr. Travis (her cardiovascular surgeon) and the staff at Lexington Medical Center for the exceptional care that I received. I am very blessed and ready to enjoy life with my loving husband and family.”
