Bio

Linda A. Perkins, MD, earned her medical degree with high honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston after graduating cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She also earned a master’s degree in cell biology from UTMB. Dr. Perkins then completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, Texas, where she served as chief resident, and completed a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Scott & White.

Prior to joining the hospital’s network of care, Dr. Perkins served as an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine and medical director of intermediate critical care for Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. While there, she was actively involved in its Patient Care and Safety Committee, ICU Committee and Rapid Response Unit, among others. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in critical care, and internal and pulmonary medicine.
