Rebecca Burnside, MD, graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with her undergraduate degree in exercise science and earned her medical degree at USC. She completed her internal medicine residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina, serving as chief resident. She also completed a critical-care and pulmonary medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Burnside has experience providing a broad range of health care services, including the management of complex conditions and treatment of critically ill patients. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians and the American Thoracic Society, as well as Phi Beta Kappa and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
