Bio

Dr. Johnson graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology, computer science and informatics from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, and earned her medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After completing her residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, she then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

An American Board of Internal Medicine diplomate, Dr. Johnson is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and Women in Cardiology. She most recently provided comprehensive patient care as chief fellow at the University of Tennessee. In addition to this role, she served on the university’s STEMI Committee, Catheterization Lab Process Improvement Committee, Emergency Management Committee and Graduate Medical and Dental Education Committee. She also provided clinical practice education to family medicine, anesthesia and internal medicine residents on cardiology and electrocardiography related topics.

Dr. Johnson proudly joins the board-certified cardiologists, vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons and highly skilled staff at Lexington Medical Heart and Vascular Center to provide patients with the highest level of care in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular diseases.
