Bio

Catherine A. Carlson, MD, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology and cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Colorado Boulder. She also earned master’s degrees in biomedical sciences and neurobiology, and French language and literature from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. After graduating with her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, she completed her residency in emergency medicine at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and a critical-care medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania.

Most recently, Dr. Carlson served as an attending physician at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. She has experience in a broad range of health care services, including pulmonary medicine and care of critically ill patients. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Emergency Medicine, she is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Carlson joins the team of board-certified physicians at Lexington Critical Care to provide comprehensive critical care to inpatients at Lexington Medical Center. These specially trained physicians reflect the hospital’s commitment to offering advanced medicine and compassionate care to patients while they are in the hospital.
