Bio

Eliza Appleby, DO, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, both in Blacksburg, Virginia. She then completed her residency in emergency medicine at New York Medical College, practicing at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan in New York, New York; NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in Harlem, New York; and Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. She served as academic chief resident and simulation director during her residency at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan.

Dr. Appleby most recently cared for patients at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, as an emergency room physician and served as a core faculty member for its Emergency Medicine Residency program. She has a special interest in simulation training and speaks fluent Malayalam.

Board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Appleby is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine.
