Bio

Dr. Peterson earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He then earned a medical degree from A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, and completed a residency in internal medicine at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Internal Medicine, Dr. Peterson is a member of the American Osteopathic Association with additional certifications in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. He most recently served as a hospitalist at Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital in Yakima, Washington, diagnosing and treating ill or injured patients, preparing strategies for medical care and maintaining infection control protocols. He also served as a physician member of the hospital’s Heart Failure Committee and as a clinical case reviewer to evaluate patient safety and quality outcomes.

Dr. Peterson joins the highly skilled physicians and staff at Lexington Hospitalists to provide comprehensive inpatient care at Lexington Medical Center. These specially trained physicians reflect the hospital’s commitment to offering advanced medicine and compassionate care to patients while they are in the hospital.
