Physician Credentialing
To qualify for medical staff membership and hospital privileges at Lexington Medical Center, a doctor must be licensed by the state, abide by the ethical principles of their profession,
participate in continuing medical education, and meet professional education and training criteria specific to his or her clinical specialty. Physicians are privileged for a two-year
term and are evaluated on a continuous basis in compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Medical Staff Physician Leaders meet on a regular basis to engage operational and quality initiatives with administrative and nursing leadership. Care pathways are
continuously reviewed and modified to meet patient care needs and evolving medical practice standards. New technology and its application to patient care is vetted by physician
leadership and grounded in patient care needs. Most importantly, the physicians at Lexington Medical Center pride themselves on a culture of collaboration and cooperation in patient care.
