Our dedication to providing excellent health care never slows. As a result, we’re constantly learning and applying that knowledge to improve clinical care and the overall hospital experience.

We achieve accreditations, designations and certifications that clearly assess and measure our readiness and capabilities as well as patient outcomes. Our aim is not to simply hold these critical measures, but to enhance and improve them wherever possible to ensure we’re providing optimal health care for those we serve.

Patient Satisfaction

Press Ganey systematically and scientifically measures patient satisfaction, serving over a thousand healthcare clients for the past 30 years. Their data gives us in-depth insight into our patients’ experience and how we compare to hospitals across the country.

This year, using Press Ganey as a vendor, the inpatients were surveyed with the HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey tool. This survey is a tool to measure patients’ perspectives on hospital care and is required by the Centers for Medicare/ Medicaid for reimbursement. Equipped with this information, we hire only the best employees and routinely update our processes and services to maintain our national lead in patient experience.

Lexington Medical Center Irmo and Lexington Outpatient Surgery have received the Press Ganey’s Summit Award seven years in a row for consistently remaining in or above the 95th percentile for three years. LMC Irmo Outpatient Surgery received The Beacon of Excellence Award (formerly the Summit Award in 2013, 2014 and 2015).  Lexington Medical Center Irmo, Lexington outpatient Surgery and all three surgeries combined have received the Press Ganey’s Guardian of Excellence Award for maintaining a 95th percentile for patient satisfaction for the last four quarters in 2015.
