Lexington Medical Center Public Safety to Have On-Site Accreditation Assessment

January 18, 2019

West Columbia, S.C.–  Lexington Medical Center’s Public Safety department will be having an on-site assessment as part of an accreditation program through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. CALEA requires agencies to comply with standards in four areas: policy and procedures; administration; operation and support services.

“This accreditation process helps to ensure that Lexington Medical Center’s Public Safety department is using the best practices and protocols in the nation for law enforcement. We are committed to achieving that goal,” said Justin McClarrie, manager of Lexington Medical Center Public Safety.

As part of the on-site assessment, Lexington Medical Center employees and community members can attend a public information session on January 29 in the Public Safety Training Room at 4:30 p.m. The department is located at 105 West Hospital Drive in West Columbia.

Hospital employees and community members can also provide feedback by calling (803) 936-7300 on January 29 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Comments at the public information session and by telephone are limited to 10 minutes and must address Public Safety’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation.

Comments can also be mailed to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. at 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia 20155.
