West Columbia, S.C.– Lexington Medical Center is opening a new urgent care and imaging center near the intersection of Highway 378 and Interstate 20 in Lexington called Lexington Medical Center Saluda Pointe. The facility opens at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. It’s behind the Chick-fil-A restaurant.
“Lexington Medical Center Saluda Pointe brings an additional urgent care and imaging center to the town of Lexington that’s closer to the hospital and convenient to the interstate and neighboring communities,” said Tod Augsburger, president and CEO of Lexington Medical Center.
The physicians at Lexington Medical Center Saluda Pointe’s urgent care address issues typically handled by a primary care physician such as coughs, sore throats, earaches, fevers, strains and sprains, sinus infections, simple cuts and wounds and stomach pain. Urgent care is for times that patients cannot get in to see their doctor or when they need medical care after hours.
Lexington Medical Center Saluda Pointe features some of the latest technology in the hospital’s network of care. It’s the first facility to offer 3T MRI, which takes more detailed images of the brain, spine, soft tissue of joints, and the inside of bones and blood vessels than other types of MRI. The urgent care center also offers CT scans, X-rays and ultrasounds.
While appointments are not required, patients can reserve an appointment time by using On My Way within LMC My Chart to reduce lobby wait times and improve patient experience.
Lexington Medical Center Saluda Pointe will be open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Hours for the imaging center vary, but there are extended hours available, including evenings and weekends.
