McDaniels Auto Group Golf Classic and Gala: April 21 and 22

April 19, 2023

West Columbia, S.C. – The Lexington Medical Center Foundation is pleased to present on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22, 2023 the McDaniels Auto Group Golf Classic and Gala benefitting the Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s McDaniels-Pucci Cancer Fund to provide hope, resources and support to Lexington Medical Cancer Center patients.

Since 2018, this event has raised $2,449,778 for life-saving cancer screenings for those in need, advanced breast cancer screening technology and support programs and services for patients and their caregivers.

The golf tournament is SOLD OUT. News reporters who want to get video of the opening remarks and beginning of the tournament should arrive at Gate 1 at Fort Jackson at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21. Each reporter and videographer must be on a list at the gate. All reporters and videographers who plan to attend must contact Lexington Medical Center Public Relations Manager Jennifer Wilson at 803-939-4512 or 803-447-3122 by the end of the day Thursday, April 20.

The Golf Classic is at Fort Jackson Golf Club's Wildcat and Old Hickory courses. The tournament offers a full day of fun beginning with breakfast and opening remarks at the Clubhouse and ending with an awards dinner after play is done. The day includes games and prizes, great food and local craft beer tastings. Players also enjoy a tournament polo, amenity bags, beverage carts, and other fun activities.

The gala will be Saturday, April 22 from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Pastides Alumni Center with live and silent auctions, heavy hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and live entertainment by the Crystal Clear Band. The evening will also feature fun experiences like a champagne welcome, magic mirror photobooth, 360 flytography, and more. A few tickets remain available for the gala. Media members who want to take photos or video at the event should contact Jennifer Wilson at 803-447-3122.

The funds raised will help support patients from their diagnosis through their transition to survivorship. Funding will directly benefit Foundation programs that provide transportation to and from appointments and treatments, emergency assistance that helps meet basic needs for cancer patients, supportive care items and cancer support groups that provide strength, hope and peer support. Funds raised will also help with more significant purchases throughout the year, such as bariatric infusion chairs, stereotactic breast biopsy systems and additional 3-D mammography units in the hospital network.
