Our program curriculum offers comprehensive training and a solid clinical foundation to prepare residents for independent practice.

Post-Graduate Year 1 Rotations

Your first post-graduate year, you’ll build a solid foundation through hands-on experience.

  • 16 weeks — Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic
  • 16 weeks — Internal Medicine Inpatient Teaching Service
  • 8 weeks — Electives
  • 4 weeks — Subspecialty Education Clinic
  • 4 weeks — Medical Intensive Care Unit
  • 4 weeks — Long-term Care

Longitudinal Curriculum

The Longitudinal curriculum will include Behavioral Health, Pharmacotherapeutics, Clinical informatics, Panel Management, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. Starting in the PGY 2 year, the Longitudinal curriculum will be assigned to a longitudinal outpatient experience in one of Lexington Medical Center’s Primary Care sites.

Post-Graduate Year 2 Rotations

Your second post-graduate year will help you move from learner to experienced resident.

  • 12 weeks — Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic
  • 8 weeks — Internal Medicine Inpatient Teaching Service
  • 8 weeks — Electives
  • 8 weeks — Long-term Care
  • 4 weeks — Subspecialty Education Clinic
  • 4 weeks — Emergency Medicine
  • 4 weeks — Geriatrics

  • 4 weeks — Medical Intensive Care Unit
