Foundation Initiatives

By supporting a variety of community and hospital programs, the Foundation fills important community needs that contribute to people’s wellness, peace of mind and dignity. Your giving makes our programs possible, thank you!


Scholarships are available to qualified students pursuing a nursing career. Scholarship recipients enrolled in associate or eligible online degree programs receive $2000 per academic year. Scholarship recipients enrolled in bachelors’ or graduate programs receive $4000 per academic year.

Becky’s Place

Making it possible for women in need to receive wigs, mastectomy bras and prosthetics.

Cancer Care Fund

By providing a variety of care programs for in-need patients, the fund enables patients to maintain focus on healing. Programs vary from year to year, but include vital medication purchase, preventative screenings, post-surgical kits and financial assistance.

Doula Program

Funding the training, certification and availability of doulas during childbirth.

Employee Hardship Assistance

Supported by employees for employees who face a severe hardship or loss that creates financial needs.

Healthcare Internships

The Partners Program provides healthcare internships for high school students.

HUGS Ambassador Program

A collaborative partnership with Leeza’s Care Connection, the Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Helping U Grow Strong (HUGS) ambassador program gives caregivers the opportunity to share their experiences to support other caregivers in the Midlands.

Mobile Medical Unit

Providing easy access to health screenings for businesses.

Mother/Baby Needs

The Women’s and Children’s Fund helps to financially support high-quality health services and patient-centered care at Lexington Medical Center.

Nursing Scholarships

Financially assisting high achieving employees and community members with advancing their nursing education.

Outdoor Gardens

The Healing Garden and Mama Sue’s Garden is a peaceful haven for healing and family gatherings. The foundation funds the maintenance, construction and design of the gardens.

Pastoral Care

Provides resources to help patients and families in the healing and grieving process through educational tools, counseling and continuing education programs.

Project Prescription

Assisting with the prescription costs for in-need patients.

Women of Hope

Bringing women together to make an impact on the health of our community through special events and networking.
